Can passive electromagnetic signatures distinguish structural degradation, cracks, strain, and related state changes with low-complexity interrogation?

Research question

Can passive electromagnetic signatures distinguish structural degradation, cracks, strain, and related state changes with low-complexity interrogation?

From electromagnetic mechanism to evidence.

This research direction focuses on passive resonant structures whose electromagnetic signatures change when the monitored structure changes. The target is not only sensitivity, but separability: different structural states should create measurable, repeatable signature changes that remain interpretable under measurement noise and environmental variation.
